Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care will be hosting a Charity Auction on Friday, September 29th at Chautauqua Suites, 215 W Lake Road, Mayville.
The auction will feature a variety of butterfly artwork by students from Sherman High School and Jefferson Middle School. The student works of art were submitted this Spring in a contest sponsored by CHPC in support of its Annual Service of Remembrance and Butterfly Release. Proceeds from the students’ art will benefit both CHPC and the art programs at the schools that participated in the contest.
“We are excited to feature at this event the beautiful student butterfly artwork,” said Shauna Anderson, President & CEO of CHPC. “The butterfly has become a symbol of hope and renewal at our Service of Remembrance. The art project gave us a unique opportunity to engage the younger residents of Chautauqua County with our mission and the ideas they conveyed in their art are breath-taking.”
In addition to student art, there will be basket raffles and silent auctions. A variety of goods and services will be available for bidding including a Walt Disney vacation, airline tickets and sports memorabilia. A complete list of items is available at CHPC’s website, www.chpc.care.
“This will be an exciting event with something for everyone,” says CHPC event coordinator BJ Buonaiuto. “We invite the community to celebrate the creativity of these students and share in an evening of fun and excitement that will benefit the programs of Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care and the art departments of the two schools.”
A buffet dinner and a cash bar will be available throughout the evening. Doors open at 6:30pm, with the Live Auction beginning at 7:30pm.
Tickets for the event are $25 for Adults and $10 for children. Tickets can be purchased at CHPC, 20 W.
