The Chautauqua Art Gallery will be celebrating a grand reopening in honor of its move to Jamestown on Friday, June 3. The Chautauqua Art Gallery, formerly located on Chautauqua Avenue in Lakewood, New York, recently relocated to 318 N. Main Street, Jamestown. The newly renovated space is significantly larger than its previous location and allows for a greater number of artists to showcase their work. The gallery space will also accommodate artist gatherings and classes in the future.

The June 3 celebration will commence with the doors opening at 11:00 a.m., an art-filled basket raffle taking place all-day, a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m. presented by the Chamber of Commerce and a Gallery Reception from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Chautauqua Art Gallery features over 28 regional artists whose work ranges from paintings, photography, stained glass, ceramics, jewelry and many other mediums.

“Since opening in 2018 we have seen great support and enthusiasm from the local community. The move to a larger space has allowed us to more than double the number of artists we host and to significantly increase the variety and size of artwork on our walls and shelves. Our community is rich with artists and we are proud to offer them a forum to showcase their talent. We hope that the Chautauqua Art Gallery will be a welcome addition to downtown Jamestown and continues to bring attention to the community’s appreciation for the arts.” said Leslie Calimeri, Chautauqua Art Gallery owner and artist.

The Chautauqua Art Gallery is now open, Wednesday-Friday from 11:00 a.m-6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. At 318 N. Main Street in Jamestown, (716) 294-3027. The artwork on display can also be viewed and purchased directly from the website ChautauquaArtGallery.com.
