Chautauqua Adult Day Services was recently awarded a grant from the Ralph C. Sheldon Foundation to replace the carpeting at its Present Center facility located in Jamestown, New York. The grant enabled the agency to replace its aging carpeting with new flooring that is more durable and has added a homelike touch to the activity room. The Present Center is a day program specifically for older adults with Alzheimer’s Disease and Memory Loss.
The agency has recently remodeled the site and the new floor will help complete the project. “We are fortunate to have received this grant to help us with the renovation of our dementia site. The Sheldon Foundation has been a longtime supporter of our services and we are pleased to be able to provide older adults and caregivers in the community with a newly renovated activity center. In addition to the flooring, we have new furniture, new lighting and we were able to have the site painted.” stated Karen Lucks, Associate Director.
