Proposal from Lakeside Capital Corp. dba Dahlstrom Roll Form Outlines Plans for Product Expansion and Job Growth
The County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) has approved a mortgage recording tax exemption for Lakeside Capital Corporation, d.b.a. Dahlstrom Roll Form, to purchase a building on 221 Lister Avenue in Falconer, NY. The purchase of this facility increases their useable square footage, and presents an opportunity for Dahlstrom to purchase an additional roll forming business (DC Roll Form), which is currently operating in the Lister Avenue building. DC Roll Form has strong revenues, their business compliments Dahlstrom’s current markets, and the transaction will allow Roll-form’s operations to remain in Chautauqua County and be housed in one location. The building includes a liquid/power painting line that will immediately eliminate some of their outsourcing needs, and will provide broader capabilities in the future.
Additionally, the current building owner, Inscape NY Inc., will lease approximately one half of the office space and 20,000 SF of manufacturing space from Dahlstrom in order to continue with the fabrication of two core products. In the future, Dahlstrom anticipates expansion of their architectural metal moldings to include similar fabrications.
“Dahlstrom has been in business for over 100 years, and we are thrilled that they will continue to do business in Chautauqua County after considering locations outside of the area, including a “build-to-suit” location in Pennsylvania,” said Mark Geise, Deputy County Executive for Economic Development and Chief Executive Officer of the CCIDA. “I am proud of their workforce, their dedication, and their continued success in our county, and am glad that the CCIDA could play a role in keeping them in Chautauqua County.”
Dahlstrom Roll Form manufactures custom roll formed metal components. Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) make up about 90% of the company’s revenue. Current OEM segments include power distribution, elevator/escalators, refrigerated food storage, HVAC, industrial reels, solar mounting systems, commercial door/frame/windows, and parts for trucks, buses and rail. A majority of their customers are long-term and place repeat orders. Custom architectural metal moldings, with an unmatched offering, account for 10% of their current business. Architectural moldings have a 115 year history with Dahlstrom and are the fastest growing portion of their business.
Robert White, Owner of Dahlstrom Roll Form said, ”We look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead by growing our business with the merged talents of our employees, and the combined capabilities of our equipment.”
Dahlstrom Roll Form currently has 31 employees and 14 roll forming lines, and is housed at 402 Chandler Street, Jamestown, NY. Dahlstrom will add seven employees to their staff from DC Roll Form.
The purchase of the 130,000 SF building includes a 7.2 acre parcel, and the transaction will take place by December 31, 2019.
