On Friday evening September 20, 2014, the Boys And Girls Club of Jamestown dedicated a handcrafted restoration of the original fireplace in the once palatial Jamestown mansion which now serves as a home of the club. The fireplace restoration project was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Jamestown which founded the club in 1939.
The club is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year and continues to serve as a vital resource to the greater Jamestown region. The project renovations were donated by Creative Custom Design, Nelson Brothers Lumber and Chuck Lombardo refinishing.
Plaques honoring all donors to the project are handsomely displayed on and above the fireplace, and Board President Rex McCray says, “We have room for many more as we will continue to honor and thank the many generous donors who contribute to the all of the ongoing and future work of the Jamestown Boys and Girls Club.”
