Astronomical Association Awards Telescopes at Fundraiser

Gary Nelson, president of the Marshal Martz Memorial Astronomical Association holds the bucket of tickets as Randy Sweeney, executive director of the Community Foundation, pulls the winner.

JAMESTOWN – William G. Aitken, of Fredonia, is seeing stars after winning a 3” beginner’s Newtonian telescope from the Marshal Martz Memorial Astronomical Association. The telescope has been fully restored and ready to be used to view the moon, planets and stars.

Randy Sweeney, Executive Director of the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, pulled the winning ticket.
