Aspiring artists from the Aspire of WNY iXpress program are hosting an art exhibit at the Lakewood Library, 12 West Summit, Lakewood, NY. The diverse exhibit features artwork created by a local group of artists with disabilities, as part of their “Aspiring Artists” series. The exhibit is on display throughout the month of January and contains acrylic and watercolor paintings, mixed-media pieces, and “junk art”.
The Lakewood Library is open Monday and Wednesday 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, Tuesday and Thursday 9:30 am to 7:00 pm, Friday 9:30 am to 3:00 pm and Saturday 9:30 am to 1:00 pm.
Visitors are invited to view the artwork created by the Southern Tier members of Aspire of WNY’s iXpress program. iXpress is a local community of artists with developmental disabilities whose works have been featured at Burchfield-Penney Art Center and University at Buffalo Art Gallery Center for the Arts. The artwork on display is available for purchase with the proceeds supporting the artists and the many innovative programs and services offered by Aspire of WNY.
