JAMESTOWN – Creations Art Program at the Resource Center is seeking artwork to be auctioned off during the upcoming Art For Life Conference in November. Creations Art Program allows Resource Center participants to express themselves in ways other than words and actions. Self-esteem and confidence are developed in these artists as their talents are nurtured.
The Art For Life Conference, November 1 and 2 in Jamestown, will feature presentations, workshop, music and artwork focused on the therapeutic effects of creating and experiencing art. An exhibit of Creations artwork and donated art titled “Strike A Pose” will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday November 2 in the Lillian V. Ney Renaissance Center, home to the conference. A silent auction of this work will be held from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. At 6 p.m., a live auction of donated artwork will take place.
Proceeds from both auctions will benefit Creations Art Program.
Those interested in donating can arrange to drop off artwork at The Resource Center offices at 200 Dunham Avenue in Jamestown between October 1 and October 18. Donations will be accepted between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on week days. Accompanying the artwork should be information including artist or business name, address, phone number and email. A 100 word biography or short artist statement should also be included. Please package the artwork appropriately to prevent damage. Violent and disturbing imagery will not be accepted.
