The County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) Board of Directors approved a resolution to acquire approximately 66.30 acres of real property owned by Bush Industries, Inc. located on Peck Settlement Road in the Town of Ellicott. This property is situated in Mason Industrial Park.
“We were happy to partner with the IDA so they could purchase the unused land behind our corporate facility,” said Jim Garde, Chief Executive Officer of Bush Industries, Inc. “The IDA has tremendous benefits to offer companies who are looking to grow, expand and create jobs in Chautauqua County and we are happy to be part of that initiative.”
$200,000 in grant funds has been accepted by the Chautauqua County Legislature from Empire State Development (ESD) for infrastructure improvements to enhance shovel ready sites. The CCIDA will work closely with Chautauqua County, on this prime Industrial Commercial property, to take this shovel ready site to the next level. An access road, utilities in place, and hiring local engineers will take the site in a positive direction.
“The ability to market shovel-ready sites in an established and successful industrial park will allow Chautauqua County to retain growing businesses and attract new ones,” said Empire State Development President, CEO & Commissioner Howard Zemsky. “I am confident, based on past success, that this public investment into the South County Industrial Park will be met by private investment at the employment hub.”
Shovel ready sites promote, attract and develop economically sound commerce and industry, along with promoting job opportunities, and the economic welfare of the people of Chautauqua County.
