The YWCA of Jamestown invites the community to join them on August 24 for YWCA Day at Chautauqua. Part of Chautauqua’s Food Festival Week, the day features inspiring lectures and a delicious lunch catered by The White Carrot. Program highlights include: inspiring lectures throughout the day, a delicious lunch catered by The White Carrot. Program highlights include Rev. Suzan Johnson Cook, US Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom, Marion Nestle, Professor of Nutrition Food Studies and Public Health at NYU as well as Vasudha Narayanan, Distinguished Professor in the Department of Religion at the University of Florida speaking on food and faith. Well-known authors Ann Patchett and Jane Hamilton are speaking in the afternoon. The day concludes with tapas at The White Carrot. Light snacks included, cash bar.
The cost is $70.00 for non YWCA Jamestown members, $65.00 for YWCA Jamestown members, and $35.00 for gate pass holders. Includes an all-day pass from 7 am to 8 pm and catered lunch. Additional $10.00 charge day of event for Bestor Plaza Wine Tasting event. Sample wines and craft beers from top-notch artisan producers. Jump into the interactive “Are You a Supertaster,” experience presented by Girls Drink Beer, and enjoy demonstrations throughout the day from respected Buffalo mixologists featuring low-octane, top-notch cocktail recipes. With the purchase of a tasting ticket, festival goers will receive a souvenir glass necessary to sample the handcrafted wines and artisanal brews vendors have to offer.
