Why help them lie?

The other day a lady told me her car got great gas mileage. “Really?” I asked. “How good?” “Oh, I don’t know, but that’s what they told me.” It turns out great was 22mpg. I once had a car that got 42mpg. I checked it. Today we get more and more deceptive claims. Like one brand of “Less sodium” soup. It matters for folks with high blood pressure. But if you read labels, it still has 10 times the sodium of that brand’s old “Low sodium” soup…which the store doesn’t sell anymore! I refuse to believe stuff without checking it. If it’s a lie, don’t help them by believing it.
