The Jamestown Viking Lodge has donated $250 to assist the UCAN (United Christian Advocacy Network) ministry housed in the former Rescue Mission building. Viking Chief Jane Fosberg and Head Viking Trustee are pictured giving the donation to UCAN Executive Director Jim Quattrone. The UCAN ministry provides a transitional ministry to assist those in need to successfully reenter society. The program has only been in existence since April but has already experienced success. Director Quattrone explained to Chief Fosberg that there are several stages to the program. The first stage being to provide food and housing, the second to develop a plan of help, and the third stage to refer those in need to programs and places to get needed help. Chief Fosberg stated that the local Viking Lodge was glad to assist this most worthy community program and that it was consistent with the International Order of Vikings philosophy of being community involved and helping those in need.
