They do not understand

They do not understand

Dogs do not understand English, Spanish or Serbo-Croation. They understand Dog. That might surprise my neighbor who thinks, “Shuttup!’ and “Knokitoff stupid mutt!” are intelligent ways to teach obedience. The other day a local dog barked, whined and cried for an hour because a guy chained it outside to a pipe and yelled obscenities and stupidities at it, then smacked it for being stupid. Dogs do not understand that. If you’re too dumb to learn a little “dog” (kindness, gentleness and rewards for good behavior are basic “Dog”, for example) please give it to somebody who can. You don’t deserve it.
