Children, Teens, and Adults are invited to take part in our Summer Reading Challenge from July 5th – August 13th. Summer Reading encourages reading for all age levels and offers everyone the chance to earn special prizes. Hazeltine Library Director Liz Gruber says, “You would be crazy not to visit your local library and get involved with their Summer Reading Challenge! Our libraries in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties provide free, high quality programming and entertainment all summer. It’s simple, you read and you get rewarded. We want you to come through our doors and use our valuable books and resources. In the summer we offer great rewards and incentives to invite you in.” The Hazeltine Library in Busti will be providing a reading incentive program for children as well as teens and adults. Children will earn weekly prizes such as Jammers Baseball ticket, Applebee’s food coupons, and other small prizes. All participants will be entered to win a deluxe Lego City playset. Adults and teens will be competing for a variety of prizes. Our feature prizes will include two gift bags furnished with gift certificates from Peterson’s Corn Crib Candies, the Boomerang Café, Red Lobster and other donated gifts. The library wishes to thank a generous bequest from the estate of ‘Aunt Doris’ Levin and the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club for making our programs possible.

An annual library booksale is also planned for this summer and details will be forthcoming. For more information visit the library at 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road at the five corners in Busti or call 716-487-1281. Additionally, the library has several programs and events planned to promote Summer Reading. Get Ready, Get Set, READ!
