Suicide: The Ripple Effect Will Be Shown At JCC

Suicide: The Ripple Effect, a documentary on the devastating effects of suicide, will be shown at 7 p.m. on May 3 in Jamestown Community College’s Scharmann Theatre.

The screening, co-sponsored by JCC’s campus life program and the Community Alliance for Suicide Prevention, is free and open to the public.

In 2000, Kevin Hines jumped from the Golden Gate Bridge in a suicide attempt. He survived and now fosters a bridge of hope between life and death for people caught in the pain of living with serious mental illness and difficult life circumstances.

The film chronicles Hines’s personal journey and the ripple effect it has on those who have been impacted by his suicide attempt and his life’s work since. The film highlights the stories of individuals and families who are using their personal tragedy to bring hope and healing to others.
