Jamestown, New York. The Board of Directors of Chautauqua Striders, a local not-for-profit organization dedicated to the mentoring and guidance of youth through education, advocacy, and athletics announced today that they have hired Jennifer Swan-Leuze as their new Executive Director.
Jennifer previously held the role of Wraparound Coordinator for Family Service of the Chautauqua Region. Prior to that she held roles at Rogers Elementary after School Program, Camp Director at YMCA, and also positions with Chautauqua and Cattaraugus County BOCES.
She has over 20 years of supervisory and leadership experience along with many years of supporting and guiding the youth in Chautauqua County.
Jennifer is a graduate of Jamestown Community College and holds a Master of Science in Education from the State University of New York College at Brockport. She also graduated with a School Counselor Emphasis. In addition to Brockport, Ms. Swan-Leuze is a graduate of the State University of New York at Geneseo with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Organizational and Occupational Behavior.
John Zabrodsky, Board Chair noted, “Chautauqua Striders is extremely pleased to welcome Jennifer to our management team. Our needs and programming are broad and diverse and Jennifer will certainly bring the management focus and strategic emphasis to our enterprise.”
Ms. Swan-Leuze will be working closely with the Board of Directors and Deborah Kathman, current Interim Executive Director, as she transitions into her new role. Her key focus will be on organizational development and management, strategic planning and execution, education program advancement, and financial control. With the new leadership and support of the greater community, Chautauqua Striders will continue to provide outstanding educational and mentoring services for the youth across Chautauqua County.
The Chautauqua Striders Employees and Board of Directors would like to thank Ms. Kathman for her time and efforts as Interim Director, as she was instrumental in keeping all programs on target towards reaching their goals during this transitional time.
Ms. Swan-Leuse grew up in Gerry, NY and graduated from Cassadaga Valley High School. She has been back in the area for over 19 years and currently lives in the Lakewood area with her husand, Sean and three daughters: Hadyn (17), Hannah (15) and Heidi (12).
