A couple of weeks ago I joined a group volunteering to clean up a mile of highway heading east out of Jamestown. We collected bags full of coffee cups, hamburger wrappers, cardboard cup-holders, fast food bags and much worse. Why do so many people think their car window is the opening to a dumpster called “The highway?” People don’t open their windows at home and dump their garbage on their neighbor’s lawns. Why is it OK on the highway? My town is not your trash can.
