The Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES kicks off a 140-hour Certified Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide course at the Hewes Educational Center on Monday, May 8, 2017. The course is offered by E2CCB’s Adult Education & Workforce Development division.
Learn the skills necessary to care for patients’ needs such as: feeding, dressing, and bathing. Medical terminology, safety, body mechanics, temperature, pulse, safety and infection control, respiration along with communication skills are stressed.
The program hours include 90 hours of instruction in the classroom, 30 hours of CNA clinical/laboratory and 10 hours of HHA clinical experience. This is an hourly program and excellent attendance is required for completion. The class will be held Monday to Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuition is $1,475. Tuition assistance may be available for eligible candidates.
Applicants must: have a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma, score well on the pre-entrance exam, provide two work-related references, undergo a physical examination indicating the student is in good health and current immunizations, get an annual flu shot, and have a 5-panel drug screen, which is required by the start of the program.
