Prendergast Library to Host Book Discussion, Lectures for 2018 Big Read Event

This year’s Big Read book is available for checkout at the library and online

Prendergast Library will hold two lectures and a book discussion as part of the 2018 Big Read event. Libraries across the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System are participating in the event which features “The Round House,” by Louise Erdrich.

Extra copies of the book are available for check out, and unlimited digital copies are available on Overdrive, the library system’s catalog of electronic books.

On Saturday April 14, at 1:00 James Thomas Stevens, acclaimed author, poet and English Professor at Santa Fe College will be giving an academic lecture kickoff event at the library.

On Saturday April 28, at 2:00 Marilyn Jemison Anderson will speak in the Community Room at Prendergast Library – Marilyn is a descendant of Mary Jemison, an American teen who was adopted by the Seneca in the 18th century. At 3:00, librarian-led book discussion will follow this event.
