The City of Jamestown Parks, Recreation & Conservation Department announces that due to construction, Panzarella Park and the north and south trails of the Greater Jamestown Riverwalk in the Central Business District are closed until further notice. Union Concrete & Construction Corp., West Seneca, NY, began work on the two pedestrian bridges that will span the Chadakoin River, linking the north and south trails of the Riverwalk.

In October 2014, state officials announced the city would receive $1.6 million in funding for the construction of the two bridges. The $2 million project will require the city to use $400,000 from the First Instance Urban Development Action Grant for the local funding match.

The Project is slated for completion in the Fall of 2018.
