The other day I was in a restaurant where the cash register shared the counter with food service. The clerk placed my lunch on the counter while ringing up another customer’s bill. Unfortunately, the customer sat her child on the counter next to my food. Maybe it was my imagination, but the aroma surrounding my food made me suspicious about the child beside it. Really lady? On the counter? That’s no place to sit a child. You wouldn’t even do that in your own kitchen.
