The Bishop Over’s Guild of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church
The public is invited to attend a Traditional English “High Tea” hosted by the Bishop Over’s Guild of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church on Saturday, May 11 from 1-3pm in the church undercroft.
The afternoon’s menu will include: assorted finger sandwiches, homemade scones with lemon curd and clotted cream, a variety of baked goods and 3 types of tea. Hats are encouraged, as there will be a hat contest, and musical entertainment will be provided.
“This is a perfect way to celebrate Mother’s Day!” says a member of the Guild. “Invite your mother, your grandmother or even your mother-in law. It will be almost like having tea with the Queen, without all the formality.”
The Bishop Overs Guild is a hospitality ministry of St. Luke’s, best known for its traditional autumn Shoppers Luncheons. All proceeds raised by the group go towards funding for community food programs, most notably St. Susan’s Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels, as well as other community service organizations.
Tickets are $20 per person and must be purchased in advance. A limited number of tickets will be available. Interested persons are asked to contact a Guild Member or call the Church office at 716-483-6405 for more information or to purchase tickets.
St. Luke’s is located at 410 North Main Street, Jamestown. Guests are invited to enter through the Fourth Street door.
