Mother’s Day really counted this year for Bemus Point native, Beth Pearson. As a matter of fact, it was her careful counting that won Beth this year’s Jamestown Gazette “Count the Roses” contest. She found every one of them that we had carefully nestled into our ads for that week, all 14 of them.

She stopped by the Jamestown Gazette office last week to collect her prizes, this year totaling hundreds of dollars of great products and services donated by many of the Gazette’s favorite and most faithful advertisers. Thanks from the Gazette to all the advertisers who sponsored “Counting the Roses” in their ads this year.

Because Beth grew up in Chautauqua County, she says that she and her husband love all the seasons here and call it “a beautiful place to live.” But once their adult children moved away and had children of their own, Beth and her husband sold their house and moved to California to be near them.

Beth says they really missed New York State and Chautauqua County, though. Eventually, they moved back to Jamestown and are extremely happy to be back in the area. Their Daughter’s family is close by now, too, living in Rochester.

The Jamestown Gazette is in Beth’s home every week. She said her husband always picks one up so both of them can read and talk about what’s going on around town while they enjoy their long-time hobby of doing jig saw puzzles together.

The Jamestown Gazette enjoys presenting readers with fun challenges and great prizes from time to time, so please enjoy the read every week.
