“Who is this kids?” asked Jordan Marsh to Fletcher Elementary School fourth graders.

“Ellen DeGeneres!”

“That’s right. The cool thing about her is that as a kid, just like you, she knew she wanted to make people laugh. So she followed her dream and became successful,” said Jordan Marsh, who owns Mattress by Design. “I have three pieces of advice for you. First, dream big like Ellen. Second, you can’t connect the dots looking forward. It might not make sense as you go through life but if you keep moving forward and work hard you can meet your dream. And finally, never give up!”

The fourth graders heard from Mr. Marsh about people who were inspired to “dream big.” The presentation was part of a special treat. Mr. Marsh, who is the husband of their teacher, Andrea Marsh, gave each student a new book to take home. Through Mr. Marsh’s business, Mattress by Design and its “Design to Dream” Program, each student in the class received “Oh the Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Seuss. Each time a mattress is sold, the “Design to Dream” Program donates a book to a child in the local community.

“Our mission is to clearly communicate to the children of our community that they are valuable, we believe in them, and that they have the power to turn their dreams into reality,” said Mr. Marsh.

Mattress by Design is a local mattress retailer that provides customers a unique new way to purchase a mattress. They believe that everyone is different and their sleep should be treated that way. Subsequently, they help customers design their own custom mattress and then build it for them right in the comfort of their home.
