Jamestown Community College and local law enforcement agencies collaborated during JCC’s winter break to provide a training opportunity for K-9 teams.
The training provided access to JCC facilities to conduct detection and search training. The environment enhanced the familiarity of teams with the buildings and provided the dogs with a better understanding that when they enter the buildings it’s time to work.
“JCC is privileged to have tremendous relationships with the agencies that provide police, fire, and emergency services to all of our campuses,” said Barry Swanson, JCC’s safety and security coordinator. “Training opportunities help the college and first responders be better prepared for a response in the event of a campus emergency.”
