Jamestown High School’s Honor Society and Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS) students recently volunteered their time to run a Blood Drive for the Community Blood Bank of NWPA and WNY. Fifty-one students donated blood, which is record number for Jamestown High School.

The Community Blood Bank supplies blood to UPMC Chautauqua WCA and they were interested in setting up a blood drive at JHS. CDOS and Honor Society advisors, Dave Munella and Donnelle Conti, thought it was a great idea as it allowed the students to obtain needed volunteer hours and help out their community. The students volunteered at the check-in and snack tables.

“This is just another way to capitalize on connecting our students with the community,” said Munella. “It also serves as a tremendous learning experience for everyone involved.”
