Community Helping Hands recently donated coats to Jefferson Middle School to help out students who may not have a winter coat.
“We are so appreciative of the donation by Community Helping Hands,” said Jefferson School Nurse, Diana Pantall. “We hate to see any child come to school without a coat. An organization like Community Helping Hands is a great resource for us to be able to give coats to those students who need them.”
Community Helping Hands was established in 2001 and is located within the Gateway Center, a formerly abandoned factory building that has been beautifully repurposed to house several organizations that provide help to those in need. They provide emergency assistance to local families in need of clothing, household items and furniture; and also operate a youth/family center on the second floor of the Gateway Center.
