The Jamestown Concert Association opens the second-half of its 2017-18 season of Transcending Borders with Calmus. A vocal quintet from Leipzig, Germany, they will perform “All the World’s a Stage – Shakespeare A Cappella” on Friday, March 23rd at 8 PM at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 410 N. Main St., Jamestown.
A perfect blend of sound, precision, lightness and wit – these are the hallmarks of Calmus, now one of the most successful vocal groups in Germany. And with their unique line-up of soprano, countertenor, tenor, baritone and bass, it is no wonder they’re gaining more and more fans worldwide. Part of their work is devoted to encouraging the up-and-coming generation, so teaching and workshops are part of their regular schedule, both at home in Leipzig and on their travels. They will be presenting a workshop at Southwestern High School for area vocal students on Friday at 1 PM.
Concert tickets are available pre-sale from The Reg Lenna Center for The Arts, Chautauqua Music, Germaine & Pappalardo, & Trinity Guitars or call 484-7070 or 487-1522. Also available at the door. Group rates available. Children 18 & under are admitted free with an adult ticket-holder.
