I saw a hot dog other day. I was ready to break the car window to rescue the poor thing when the owner showed up. She opened the door and stepped back with the heat that rolled out. What did she think her dog was supposed to do? Even on a 70-degree day the temperature can top 100 in just 30 minutes. On a hot day (90 degrees), it reaches 120 degrees in only 20 minutes. And cracking the window does little good. Please, dog people, be careful. “I’ll be back in a few minutes” easily becomes 20, 30, even 60. Hot dogs are only good at picnics.
