Horrigan Appoints New CCIDA and CCDPED Director

Chautauqua County Executive Vincent W. Horrigan announced today the appointment of Kevin M. Sanvidge as the new Administrative Director/CEO of the County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) and Director of the Chautauqua County Department of Planning and Economic Development (CCDPED).

Sanvidge begins his new position on May 27, 2014 and he is replacing current director William Daly, who will be retiring on May 31.

Sanvidge is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Lake Shore Savings Bank, where he also serves as the chairman of its Compensation Committee and as a member of its Corporate Governance Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of ECR International Corporation, where he also serves as the chairman of its Compensation Committee and as a member of its Audit Committee. He is also a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce.

He previously served as Executive Vice President of Administration and Supply Chain for Cliffstar Corporation from 1999 to 2011. Prior to working at Cliffstar, he worked at Al Tech Specialty Steel Corporation for 21 years, where he served in various management positions include vice president of administration.

“Kevin has a strong background and proven success in manufacturing and administration as he has 25 years of experience in leading organizations, managing employees, and ensuring significant financial growth,” said Horrigan. “Together with his business and community involvement, I believe his energy and talents will have a high impact on growing and retaining jobs in Chautauqua County and I am excited to have him join our team of professionals.”

The selection of the new director was made through the help of a search committee established by Horrigan. Members of the committee included: George Borrello, County Legislator; Dave Dawson, former Administrative Director of CCIDA, former Acting County Executive, and President of Dawson Metal; and Mike Metzger and Dennis Rak, members of the CCIDA Board of Directors.

“I am absolutely thrilled with the choice of Kevin Sanvidge,” said Borrello. “As the Chairman of the Planning and Economic Development Committee, I look forward to working with Mr. Sanvidge. His years of success in the private sector will be a tremendous asset to our economic development efforts in Chautauqua County.”

“The appointment of Kevin Sanvidge will ensure strong leadership remains at the helm of our CCIDA as we carry on our mission of economic development and growth here in Chautauqua County,” said CCIDA President Michael Metzger.

Sanvidge earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Economics at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and he presently resides in Fredonia, NY.
