Heritage Celebrates Employees of the Year

Heritage Ministries recently honored their 2016 Employees of the Year for each of their locations in Chautauqua. Employees are chosen based upon a vote by fellow employees in each location, and are announced each year.

Cherilyn Bossman

The Park (Jamestown) – Cherilyn Bossman. Cheri has been employed as a receptionist at The Park for 5 years. According to co-workers, she greets everyone who comes through the door and knows many of them by name. Cheri will stop whatever she is doing to make sure a resident, family member, or fellow staff member’s needs are met.

Sarah Johnson

Orchard Grove (West Ellicott) – Sarah Johnson. Sarah has been employed at Orchard Grove since June 2012. During that time she has grown with the facility and has been 2nd shift supervisor. Most recently she has been promoted as the Administrative Assistant/Case Manager Assistant and will be learning a new role with her employment. Sarah is always willing to take on anything new and does so with a smile. She has built relationships with the residents and treats them like family.

The Village (Gerry) – Kathy Bull. Kathy works in Dietary. One co-worker says of Kathy, “Kathy is one of our most dedicated staff members. Time and again, she can be counted on to get us through any situation to ensure service to our Residents is excellent. She frequently sacrifices weekends and holidays – putting our department needs ahead of her own. She is an excellent mentor to new staff and is interested in teaching skills to her co-workers to both improve their knowledge as well as build our team.”

The Green (Greenhurst) – John Near. John Near works as a Maintenance Assistant. One co-worker says of John: “John is an outstanding employee. He is hardworking and dedicated. Whenever you ask John to do something, he does it right away. John is always willing to help. He never complains, instead he makes you feel that he works for you. John is very respectful and professional.”

Heritage Management Company (Gerry) – Carrie Johnstone. Carrie works as a Life Enrichment Coordinator. One of Carrie’s co-workers says of her, “Carrie goes above and beyond in providing care and acting in a way that exemplifies our mission. She displays leadership in her positive can do attitude and focuses not on obstacles, but on what can be achieved.”

Heritage Ministries, is a non-profit, human service organization serving the Chautauqua County region with over 800 employees. Independent and assisted living residences for seniors are located at The Homestead in Gerry and at The Woodlands on Southwestern Drive in West Ellicott. Rehabilitation and skilled nursing services are provided at The Village (Gerry, New York), The Park (Jamestown, New York), Orchard Grove (West Ellicott, New York) and The Green (Greenhurst, New York). Additionally, Heritage Living at the Chautauqua Mall serves the community by providing an easy-access location for area seniors, and their families, to get answers to questions about a senior’s evolving needs.
