A wild turkey seminar will be held at Mission Meadows (5201 East Lake Road Dewittville, NY 14728) on Saturday, March 11, 2017, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This event is free and open to the public with an option to purchase a fish and chips lunch for $10.

Sportsmen who attend this seminar will learn tips tricks and techniques from expert hunters to help them bag monster gobbles this spring.

The seminar will cover wild turkey biology, behavior, and hunting techniques. Tom Bergstue of Lynn Legacy Game Calls and Mountain Cabin Outdoors will be presenting the following topics:

  • Pre-season Scouting: tips and techniques to locate turkeys
  • Turkey Hunting Clothing & Equipment: what to wear and what to bring
  • Bow, Shotgun, Crossbow Options: effective chokes, gauges, loads, scopes, broadheads, and making the shot
  • Calling Techniques: the art and science of turkey communication, when and when not to call, what to say and when to say it
  • Woodsmanship: reading the woods, proper setup
  • Decoying: selection of decoys, proper setup
  • Blinds: concealment options, advantages and disadvantages
