On Thursday evening, the City of Jamestown Democratic Committee voted to endorse local attorney and former democratic congressional candidate, Eddie Sundquist, for Mayor in the upcoming mayoral election.
Democratic City Chairman, Jim Walton, who presided over the City’s meeting, said, “We are excited to endorse Eddie because of his commitment to Jamestown and its citizens. As a Jamestown native and young professional in our community, Eddie will be a powerful advocate for our City, and I’m confident he will be a strong leader.”
“I believe in the strength of Jamestown and our ability to meet future challenges head on. We are a city with a rich history and strong foundation, fueled by people who are passionate about this community. I want to capitalize on these strengths as we step forward into new opportunities. Jamestown has an exciting future ahead and I want to help us get there,” said Sundquist.
Along with the Sundquist, who will head the Democratic ticket, the Jamestown City Committee also endorsed the following council members positions:
- Tamu Graham-Reinhardt, At-Large
- Gregory Rabb, At-Large
- Taylor Scott, At-Large
- Tim Smeal, Ward I
- Tom Vitale, Ward II
- Vickye James , Ward III
- Marie Carruba, Ward IV
- Maria Jones, Ward V
- Tom Nelson, Ward VI
Joining the Jamestown team are endorsed county legislator incumbent Chuck Nazzaro (District 9) and candidate Bob Whitney (District 11).
A rally is being planned to formally announce Sundquist and other endorsed Democrats on February 28th, 2019, at 4PM, at the Chadakoin River scenic overlook on the Jamestown River Walk (across from McCrea Point.) All are welcome to attend.
