Southern Tier West will sponsor Capacity Building Camp, a diverse two-day training series presented by Nonprofit Works, a Saratoga Springs, NY organization specializing in high-impact training and consulting. The training series will take place on Wednesday, April 5 and Thursday April 6 in the BOCES conference center located in the Center for Regional Excellence in Salamanca. Registrants can choose from flexible learning options: the full 2-day series is $195 per person or choose one day for $105 per person. Registration includes all workshop materials, morning refreshments, and lunch. Capacity Building Camp participants are suggested to bring a laptop or tablet, but it is not a requirement to take the trainings. A flier, outline of the workshops, and online registration is available at the Southern Tier West website: www.SouthernTierWest.org.

Capacity Building Camp is a boot-camp style approach to learning critical knowledge and skills that can translate to success in meeting goals for your organization, business, or municipality. Presenters Paul Mastrodonato and John Wilner will lead participants through four ½ day workshop intervals over a two-day span. The learning approach will be designed for impactful knowledge and skills training utilizing experiential activities, real-life examples, reference templates, resources, and a dynamic engaging instruction style. Workshops include “Developing a Strategic Plan” and “Mission-driven Communications” on Wednesday, April 5, and “Researching and Approaching Grantmakers” and “Plan Programs & Budgets Using Logic Models” on Thursday, April 6. With flexible learning options, registrants can choose to attend both training days (all four workshops) or choose to attend just one day (two workshops) that will meet their training needs.

“Southern Tier West is pleased to present this high-outcome, value-priced training series that will give participants information and skills that can be readily used to help achieve their organizational goals and successes. Nonprofit Works provides exceptional training sessions that impart exactly the information needed by today’s organizations and municipalities in a format that’s engaging and styled for “just in time learning” strategy. Participants who attended a previous training that Southern Tier West presented with Nonprofit Works rated the workshop as highly beneficial, practical and valuable and requested that we bring Nonprofit Works back to the Southern Tier region for more trainings,” state Kimberly LaMendola of Southern Tier West. “This training series will fill quickly so we recommend reserving spots as soon as possible.”

The two-day training is taught by Paul Mastrodonato and John Wilner of Nonprofit Works, headquartered in Saratoga Springs, NY. Paul Mastrodonato has helped nonprofit organizations and professional associations build their organizational skills and capacity to achieve success in reaching goals. John Wilner has worked as a researcher, reporter, editor, director of publications, and as a communications consultant for a variety of nonprofit and media organizations for nearly 30 years.
