Bush Elementary School recently held its annual Jump Rope for Heart raising $3,684 for the American Heart Association. The top five student fundraisers were: Max Miley ($540), Robbie Williams ($250), Ingrid Stendahl ($230), Madelyn Wilkins ($225) and Dominic Newman ($218).
“We set a record with our Jump Rope for Heart this year,” said Physical Education teacher Jay Grann, “And it brings our nine-year total to $14,000 for the American Heart Association. The kids have been excited and done an outstanding job. Having an event like this starts the students out at an early age to let them know that people need help sometimes and anything we can do to give back to them is good for them to learn.”
Physical education classes participated in jump roping, hula hooping, mini-bikes, scooters, basketball, step boxes, and a target toss game to learn more about fun, heart-healthy activities.
The Bush School PTA also provided and served students a healthy snack.
