Best Picture Nominee “La La Land” Shows at Reg Lenna Center for The Arts

The Oscar-winning film La La Land shows Saturday, March 11 at 8 p.m. at Reg Lenna Center for The Arts. The film was nominated for a record 14 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Actor (Ryan Gosling). It won for Best Actress (Emma Stone) and Best Director (Damien Chazelle – Whiplash). Admission is $5. The film was briefly announced as Best Picture winner at the 2017 Academy Awards ceremony in a presentation error.

La La Land tells the story of Mia [Stone], an aspiring actress, and Sebastian [Gosling], a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams. La La Land is Rated PG-13 and is 128 minutes long.

Coming up in the Movies @ The Reg series are Best Picture nominees Lion on March 15 at 7 p.m., Hidden Figures on March 18 at 8 p.m. and the animated feature, Sing showing March 24 at 7 p.m. and as a Sensory Friendly screening March 25 at 2 p.m.
