Distinctive dining, professional sports, outdoor adventures, delightful handcrafted items – if any of these sound appealing, you won’t want to miss OctoberFEAST, Audubon Community Nature Center’s annual dinner and auction.
This year’s evening of fun, friendship, and giving will be Saturday, October 21, at the Nature Center.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for viewing live auction prizes, bidding on the silent auction, and visiting the cash bar.
During the six o’clock hour will be a delicious dinner that is sure to please vegans and omnivores alike. As new specials are delivered to tapas food stations, you can eat as you wander throughout the building or fill your plate and take a comfy seat where you can enjoy the gorgeous fall scenery.
Jovial banter between the two board member auctioneers, John Beard and Nate Welker, guarantee an entertaining live auction from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Whatever your pleasure, there is sure to be something in the live or silent auctions that will grab your attention.
If unique dining appeals to you, you can choose from a jazz supper club, venison dinner, Cuban soiree, vegan feast, garden-to-table dinner, or brunch and studio tours in an 1880s boardinghouse.
Sports fans will be interested in tickets/suites for the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Pirates, Erie Seawolves, and Erie Otters.
Those with an adventuring spirit could be part of a hellbenders or a fresh water mussel survey with a fisheries biologist, kayak lesson and outing, or rattlesnake “hunt.” For calmer experiences there is a butterfly photo safari, maple syrup making, pampering bed and breakfast, spring wildflowers and bird walk complete with brunch – or you could have your coins appraised.
If you are planning a wedding, graduation, or family gathering, 100 customized Whirley Drinkworks travel mugs, with the option for more, would highlight the event.
Those who appreciate handcrafted work will want to examine the Swedish woven afghan, eagle quilt, jewelry, scarves, and wood items, including a vintage rocking horse. The paintings and photography are sure to catch your eye, and you could even secure a custom portrait of the favorite animal in your life.
The Great Entertainment Raffle features admissions to more than a dozen premier area performances and venues.
