Falconer Rotary Club President, Alan Gustafson, is thrilled that the 16-member group of Rotarians is able to step in and sponsor the long-held village tradition of the Annual Santa Parade, slated this year for Saturday, November 18th at 1p.m.

“For decades, the Falconer Business Association was the lead sponsor. But with their dissolution, a new host was needed.” Gustafson said. The Falconer Rotary Club is comprised of local professional men and women who love to give back to their community.

The Rotary Club of Falconer, founded in 1939, is one of 33,000 worldwide clubs that make up the Rotary International organization, whose motto is “Service Above Self”. This club in particular has volunteered much of their time and talents over the years, especially with their Falconer Park project. Sponsorship of this parade demonstrates one key Rotary ideal, in that it is meant to build goodwill and better friendships amongst the residents. The club meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute at 311 Curtis Street in Jamestown.

The Santa parade begins at 1:00 p.m., stepping off from Falconer High School and continuing along Main Street and Davis Street, and ending at Santa’s House in Coleson Park. Santa & Mrs. Claus will be escorted in the parade by the following groups and organizations:

  • Henry Mosher Post 638 American Legion Color Guard
  • Falconer/Frewsburg High School Marching Band
  • Brownies, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts & Boy Scouts
  • Falconer and area fire departments
  • Falconer First Baptist Church
  • Falconer’s Littlest Hoopers
  • Falconer Rotary Club
  • Other church, community and civic organizations

Any additional persons, groups or organizations who would like to participate should call (716) 450-3032 or email falconerrotaryclub@outlook.com.

Mr. & Mrs. Claus will hold a meet & greet for their young fans immediately following the parade at their Falconer outpost in Coleson Park (near the fire hall & Tops). Activities on hand include a petting zoo and the Falconer High School Choir, who will be performing favorite Christmas carols. Be sure to stop at the Holiday Bazaar in the Falconer Fire Hall from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., sponsored by the Falconer Fire Auxiliary, and cross off some gift items on your list!

Santa will return the following Saturday, November 25th from 1-3 pm to welcome more good little girls and boys from our area.

See you all at the parade!
