6th Annual Charity Auction to Benefit Heritage House is June 1

JAMESTOWN – On Friday June 1, 2012 Heritage Ministries will host the 6th Annual Charity Auction to benefit Heritage House Childcare & Learning Center.  The event will take place at Jamestown Community College Phys. Ed Complex located off of Curtis Street in Jamestown. The evening will include both a silent (6 p.m.) and live (7 p.m.) auction, with over a hundred and thirty great items donated by generous local businesses and individuals.

Heritage House, which opened in 2002, is a not-for-profit daycare provider located on Prather Avenue in Jamestown.  The childcare and learning center serves area families with children between the ages of 6 weeks to 5 years.  The center is also a Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) site for the Jamestown Public School District.  Heritage House currently offers one morning and one afternoon UPK class.

The annual event’s silent auction, starting at 6 p.m., will include an overnight get away from Hampton Inn & Suites and Comfort Inn, fitness center memberships and gift cards, sports memorabilia and tickets, several local golf club gift certificates, themed baskets, children’s toys, handcrafted jewelry pieces and dozens of great gift certificates to local businesses & restaurants.

The live auction will start at 7 p.m. with auctioneer Greg Himes of Himes Auction Company.  This year’s feature items are handcrafted and custom built children’s chairs, rocking chairs and nesting tables donated by Fancher Chair of Falconer.  Each of the handcrafted furniture pieces has been uniquely painted by talented local artists including, Gary Peters Jr., Lindsey Brown, Tara Eastman, Renee Mitchner, Elaine Caflisch, Diane Gatto, Wes Bossman, Brian Pye, Wendy Samuelson, Liz Jones, Lisa Anne Matteson and John Cresanti.

The live auction will also include the new Apple Ipad, an Apple Ipod nano 8GB, Ricoh SPC 23IN network color printer, YMCA 1 year membership for a new member, antique hexagon star quilt, children’s quilt, 24 month vehicle maintenance package from Shults Auto Center, one week of summer camp at Mission Meadows, unique stained glass sculpture by local artist William Disbro, Artone LLC “My Companion” nightstand, dessert of the month and more!
